BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On September 25, 2018 (Item 50), the Board of Supervisors awarded a construction contract (18-373) to Trinity Construction for installation of the Cypress Tank Booster Pump Station and On-Site Piping Project (Project). As part of the Project, the Special Districts Department (Department) coordinated with Southern California Edison (SCE) to determine the appropriate level of power needed for the Project site. Based upon the calculated loads, SCE prepared the necessary plans to upgrade equipment and appurtenances needed to effectively deliver power to the site. The physical work scheduled and performed by SCE in relation to these upgrades does require an agreement under SCE’s Rule 15, Distribution Line Extensions.
Approval of this contract will allow SCE to proceed with extension of electrical distribution lines to the Cypress Tank Booster Station. The appendices to the contract provide CSA 70 Zone, CG with a refundable option or a discount option for the same amount of $8,825.60 for construction of the line extension. CSA 70 Zone, CG has selected the refundable option since it is anticipated that other SCE customers will tie into the line extension, thereby generating a future refund to the district.
