RECOMMENDATION(S)

Recommendation

Approve a non-financial Memorandum of Understanding with Inland Empire Health Plan for collaboration, outreach, and community integration, for the period of December 18, 2019 through December 31, 2020, with automatic renewal language for four additional years, for a maximum term of five years, ending on December 31, 2024.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) does not impact discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as it is non-financial.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Under the terms of the recommended MOU, Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) and the Department of Public Health (DPH) will partner together to collaborate and promote community health.  Both agencies have a complementary objective to protect and promote the health of the general population.  IEHP will coordinate and conduct outreach efforts, especially to underserved populations.  DPH will provide information and education on services and programs offered.  Both agencies agree to work together and share information relating to local resources and community outreach and education activities, for an initial one-year term of December 18, 2019 through December 31, 2020, with four additional annual auto renewals, extending the term through December 31, 2024.  The MOU can be terminated by either party without cause with 60 days written notice, and with cause with ten working days written notice.

 

Approval of this item aligns with the County’s Vision by working with other agencies to meet health and social service needs.
