Recommendation
Approve non-financial Agreement with Borrego Community Health Foundation for healthcare and dental services to children enrolled in Head Start, Early Head Start, and State Preschool programs, for the period of April 8, 2020 through April 30, 2023.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item is non-financial in nature and as such, does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Borrego Community Health Foundation (BCHF) will bill Medi-Cal or other third party payers or public programs for services provided. The County Preschool Services Department (PSD) will not be responsible for compensation of these services.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
BCHF provides high quality, comprehensive primary health care at 22 locations to residents of Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties, focusing on the underserved, low-income members of the community. The recommended non-financial agreement with BCHF will allow PSD to provide mobile healthcare and dental services to children enrolled in Head Start, Early Head Start, and State Preschool programs at designated PSD school site locations. Services provided by BCHF include basic primary care, family practice, and preventive care including age appropriate immunizations and acute care, as well as mobile dental services. Per federal Head Start guidelines, initial dental screenings are required within 90 days after the child first attends the program.
