BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of this item will allow for the purchase of an unbudgeted fixed asset to replace one heat-on-demand meal delivery system (Advantage Activator) as one of the two Activators used at ARMC is no longer operable. The Advantage Activator is necessary to maintain patient food at the proper and safe temperatures specified by Federal and State regulatory and compliance agencies. Therefore, this purchase cannot wait until next fiscal year as the patient volume at ARMC necessitates the use of two activators to efficiently provide food to patients.
ARMC recommends the approval of this unbudgeted fixed assets to ensure patient care and safety is maintained through the ARMC Nutrition Department. Per County Policy 11-04, the purchase of unbudgeted fixed assets of $10,000 per unit value or more requires Board approval.
PROCUREMENT
Purchasing has approved the procurement of one Advantage Activator based on a competitive bid for capital equipment under Vizient contract #FD2891.
