BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The recommended action will provide for a new revenue license with Consolidated Fire Agencies (CONFIRE) for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2025 for two communication rack spaces in the County-owned server room and shared space for equipment in the communication rooms at the High Desert Government Center (HDGC) located at 15900 Smoke Tree Street in Hesperia for the operation and maintenance of an electronic server system.
CONFIRE occupies approximately 3,441 square feet of office space situated in the County-owned HDGC for the operation of its 911 call center under the provisions of revenue Lease Agreement No. 19-505 as approved by the Board of Supervisors (Board) on July 23, 2019 (Item No. 36). The call center is linked electronically with various fire agencies in the Hesperia/Victorville area for data transmission. CONFIRE contacted Real Estate Services Department (RESD) and requested the County consider a proposal to permit the collocation of its electronic server system in the County’s server and communication rooms at the HDGC.
RESD, with the approval of ISD who administers these spaces at HDGC for the County, prepared a license agreement for the use of rack space within the County-owned server room on the first floor and shared space for equipment in the communication rooms on the second floor of the HDGC. This new five-year revenue license agreement provides for CONFIRE’s use of two communication rack spaces for server equipment associated with CONFIRE’s 911 call center within the County-owned server room and shared space for equipment in the communication rooms at the HDGC located at 15900 Smoke Tree Street in Hesperia for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2025 and provides revenue to the County.
Staff has reviewed the recommended action pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and has determined it does not constitute a project. Accordingly, no further action is required under CEQA.
