Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 19-555 with Aviat U.S., Inc. to grant Aviat access to the County Wide Area Network to perform remote performance monitoring and troubleshooting of the County Microwave System.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 19-555 with Aviat U.S., will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as this Amendment is solely to authorize access to the County's Wide Area Network in order to perform monitoring and troubleshooting of the County's Microwave System. The total contract amount of $13,195,778 for the ten-year microwave system technology refresh program remains unchanged.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Information Services Department (ISD) maintains the microwave system for transmission of information throughout the County. It is a critical component of the Public Safety Radio System and uses a radio-based pathway for data, voice, and video communications.

On August 6, 2019 (Item No. 20), the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved a ten-year contract with Aviat U.S., Inc.
