RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to County Contract No. 19-761 (State Agreement No. 201936), effective May 6, 2020, revising the budget for the Black Infant Health Program for State General Fund Expansion funding allocation from the California Department of Public Health, increasing the grant award by $447,928, from $940,212 to $1,388,140, for the period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The State General Fund Expansion funding allocation from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for the Black Infant Health (BIH) Program, in the amount of $447,928 does not require a match. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Department of Public Health's (DPH) 2019-20 budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
CDPH provides noncompetitive funding for the BIH Program to local health departments to promote healthy living for mothers and their families through a focus on the comprehensive health, physical, and psychosocial needs of the maternal, child, and adolescent health population. DPH has received funding for the BIH Program from 1990 through 2010 and beginning again in 2014.
