BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of this item allows the Department to purchase two convention ovens to replace the existing ovens currently in use in the Central Valley Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center (CVJDAC). The current ovens are beyond their expected lifespan and are in need of constant repairs. The purchase of new ovens will eliminate the ongoing repair costs of $4,000 to date, and dramatically reduce the current downtime of food preparation for the youth in custody.
PROCUREMENT
The Department is in the process of getting official quotes from multiple vendors for the purchase of the above items. The requested budget adjustments are based on research completed by the Department and represent the expected price of the ovens. Any purchases made will be in line with County procurement rules and guidelines.
