RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Accept Grant Award (State Agreement No. BSCC0049-18-MH) with the State of California, Board of State and Community Corrections to accept $202,500 to provide critical mental health training to 750 corrections personnel and one master training instructor for the period of May 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The State of California, Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC), is providing funds to the Probation Department (Department) in the amount of $202,500 for mental health training of the Department's corrections personnel. A budget adjustment is not requested at this time but will be included in a future quarterly countywide budget report brought to the Board of Supervisors (Board) for approval, if necessary.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In 2019, the BSCC, Standard and Training for Corrections (STC) division disseminated a statewide survey to be completed by agencies as a component of a mandated Annual Training Plan. On April 15, 2019, Probation completed and submitted the survey to BSCC. BSCC utilized the results of the survey to disburse grant funding for Mental Health Training.
