Approve Agreement with Soft Computer Consultants, Inc. dba SCC Soft Computer, for blood bank software compatible with the new Electronic Health Record system, in the total amount of $596,938.08, effective January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2025.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of the agreement with SCC Soft Computer will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The total cost of $596,938.08 for blood bank software compatible with the new Electronic Health Record system is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue are included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2020-21 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The agreement with SCC Soft Computer will improve ARMC operations by providing the standalone blood bank software necessary to function with the new Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Epic - Beaker module, that was approved by the board August 6, 2019 (Item No. 9), that is slated for project initiation in January 2021.
