Recommendation
Adopt Resolution that accepts Morning Star Court, in the Wrightwood Area, into the County Maintained Road System pursuant to Streets and Highways Code section 941.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this action will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Minor administrative costs associated with updating the Department of Public Works (Department) records, as well as future maintenance costs associated with the subject road will be funded by Gas Tax revenue. Sufficient appropriation is available in the Department’s 2020-21 Road Operations budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Pursuant to Streets and Highways Code section 941, the Board of Supervisors may accept into the County Maintained Road System (CMRS) roads that are necessary to public convenience. A property owner living on Morning Star Court contacted the First Supervisorial District and requested that the roadway be entered into the CMRS. The Department performed an inspection of Morning Star Court, in the Wrightwood area and has determined that it meets the minimum standards for inclusion into the CMRS. Accepting this road into the CMRS will ensure the appropriate infrastructure needed to support the existing land use.
