RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Adopt Resolution:
a. to establish a "No Trucks over 5 Tons" zone pursuant to County Code Section 52.0131 on Cactus Avenue from Jurupa Avenue to Santa Ana Avenue, in the Bloomington Area.
b. to rescind existing "No Trucks over 5 Tons" zone, per Resolution No. 2010-17, pursuant to County Code Section 52.0131 on Jurupa Avenue from Cactus Avenue easterly to Rialto City Limit, in the Bloomington Area.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The proposed resolution will not result in significant costs to the Department of Public Works (Department). The minor administrative costs to update Department records and the cost to install, remove, and maintain signage for the "No Truck over 5 Tons" zones are minimal and will be funded by Gas Tax revenue. Sufficient appropriation is included in the Department's 2020-21 Road Operations budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The previous restriction of "No Trucks over 5 Tons" on Jurupa Avenue from Cactus Avenue easterly to the Rialto City Limit was put in place to help minimize neighborhood impacts from commercial truck traffic. Since that time, residents on Cactus Avenue and in the surrounding area have expressed dissatisfaction regarding the amount of commercial traffic that has been generated in their neighborhood as the trucks travel from the FedEx facilities on Cactus Avenue north to Slover Avenue to access the freeways.
