BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On September 5, 2020, the El Dorado Incident began in the El Dorado park near the Yucaipa Ridge area, West Oak Glen, and moved into the San Bernardino Mountains. As of September 23, 2020 the fire burned more than 22,000 acres. Due to the fire’s close proximity to Yucaipa Regional Park, an Incident Command Post was established there. The recommended Agreement between the Department and Permittee allows for the use of a portion of the Park whereby Permittee will provide compensation for the period of September 6, 2020 through the end of the Incident Command Post.
This revenue agreement aligns with the County and Chief Executive Officer Goals and Objectives to Operate in a Fiscally-Responsible and Business-Like Manner by enabling the Department to leverage its park property resources to generate revenue. Additionally, the agreement aligns with the Goals to Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents and to Pursue County Goals and Objectives by Working with Other Agencies.
