RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1, effective October 28, 2020, to non-financial Memorandum of Understanding, Contract No. 17-822, with The Chance Project-Pathways Network for collaboration in providing assistance to families with young children ages 0-5 who are homeless or in housing crisis, extending the contract an additional two years from October 31, 2020, for a total contract period of November 1, 2017 through October 31, 2022.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The recommended amendment is non-financial in nature and as such, does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Chance Project-Pathways Network (TCP) is a provider of resources for individuals and families with children who are homeless or in housing crisis through its Pathways Network. The goal of the Pathways Network is to help households with children under 18 years old, as well as transition-aged youth, seniors, and adults with disabilities in housing crisis find a safe and comfortable place to live while simultaneously helping them address the root causes of their situation and return to a life of self-reliance and stability.

The recommended amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will allow PSD to continue its collaboration with TCP in providing needed resources and assistance to eligible families with young children ages 0-5 who are homeless or in housing crisis in San Bernardino County.
