Recommendation
Accept the Joint Conference Committee meeting minutes of the meeting held on December 19, 2019, and direct the Clerk of the Board to maintain as confidential closed session documents pursuant to Evidence Code section 1157 et seq.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Acceptance of the Joint Conference Committee (JCC) meeting minutes will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as the JCC meeting minutes are non-financial in nature.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On March 22, 1994, the Board of Supervisors established a JCC to serve as a communication mechanism between the Board of Supervisors as the governing body of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) and the medical staff of ARMC. A JCC meeting was held on December 19, 2019.

Discussion items at these meetings included updates on the ARMC facility, Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit, medical staff issues, legislation, and state and federal budgets as recorded on the meeting minutes.

The meeting minutes for the Joint Conference Committee (JCC) cannot be brought to the Board of Supervisors until they are approved by the JCC members at the next meeting. The JCC meets quarterly. After the meeting on December 19, 2019, there was a meeting scheduled in March 2020 that was cancelled due to the novel coronavirus 2019.
