RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Find that the pavement rehabilitation on Beech Avenue and Hemlock Avenue, in the Fontana area (Project) is exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act, Class 1, Section 15301(c) (existing facilities).
2. Approve Project as defined in the Notice of Exemption and direct the Clerk of the Board to file and post the Notice of Exemption.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Public Works (Department) is funded by Gas Tax revenue, fees and other state and local funding. The requested actions are administrative in nature with minimal financial impact. Sufficient appropriation is included in the Department's 2020-21 Road Operations budget (6650002000 14H14977).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Project will be constructed in two phases. The first phase is located on Beech Avenue, from Fontana Avenue to Randall Avenue, and involves milling the existing pavement and overlaying the roadway with new asphalt concrete, construction of new asphalt concrete dike and minor roadway widening at various locations to improve drainage, replacing curb and gutter, and reconstructing curb ramps at various locations, in accordance with current design standards and pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as well as repairing or reconstructing spandrels and cross-gut...
