Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 18-502 with Golden West Arbor Services, Inc. increasing the total contract amount by $750,000 from $750,000 to $1,500,000, with no change to the contract term of July 10, 2018 through June 30, 2023, for tree trimming and removal services.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Public Works - Transportation (Department) is funded by Gas Tax revenues, fees, and other local, state, and federal funding. As these are on-call tree trimming and removal services, the specific projects have not yet been determined. Depending on the project, one of the above funding sources will be used to fund the cost of the contract. Sufficient appropriation is included in the Department's 2020-21 Road Operations budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On July 10, 2018 (Item No. 47), the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved contracts with nine contractors to be on the Department's on-call tree trimming and removal services list. The item included the contract with Golden West Arbor Services, Inc. (Golden West Arbor) in an amount not-to-exceed $750,000 (Contract No. 18-502) for a contract term of July 10, 2018 through June 30, 2023.
