BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Pursuant to County Policy 04-01, the County of San Bernardino (County) develops and submits its annual State Legislative Platform to the State Legislative Delegation and the Federal Legislative Platform to the Federal Congressional Delegation (Platforms). Developed in coordination with the Board of Supervisors (Board), County departments, Board-Governed Separated Entities, and regional stakeholders, the Platforms communicate the County’s legislative agenda for the year. Additionally, the Platforms are a valuable tool used by the County to assist the legislative delegations in advocating for regional public policy and funding priorities.
The Platforms’ principles are based on efficient service delivery and operations, preservation of local control, fiscal stability, and the promotion of inter-agency cooperation. This item recommends the adoption of the 2021 State and Federal Legislative Platforms.
