Approve Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 20-29 with Aureus Radiology, LLC to extend the contract period for two years, for a total contract term of January 28, 2020 through June 30, 2023, with no change to the contract terms and conditions or contract amount, for the provision of medical imaging staffing.

Body
COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Operate in a Fiscally-Responsible and Business-Like Manner.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Costs). There are no costs associated with this amendment. Sufficient appropriation for the contract has been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2020-21 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of this Amendment will enable ARMC’s Medical Imaging Department to procure staff to cover shortages for various Medical Imaging positions during heavier workload periods that cannot be filled through the use of overtime or shift changes.
ARMC procured the Medical Imaging Staffing with a non-competitive agreement, approved by the Board of Supervisors on January 28, 2020 (Item No. 9) for the following positions: General Diagnostic (x-ray), Cat Scan (CT), MRI, Mammography, Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, Echocardiography, Special Procedures, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Nuclear Medicine.
ARMC recommends the approval of the Amendment extending the contract term for two additional years to allow sufficient staffing to continue to provide medical imaging services to San Bernardino County residents.
PROCUREMENT
Purchasing supports the two-year extension of this non-competitive agreement based on specialized credentials and expertise. ARMC’s current nurse registry does not offer radiology and ultrasound services. Therefore, it is imperative to patient care to extend the agreement with Aureus Radiology for Ultrasound Services and other Medical Imaging positions.
