RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Adopt Resolutions creating the following Municipal Advisory Councils:
a. Searles Valley-Trona Municipal Advisory Council
b. Spring Valley Lake Municipal Advisory Council
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to post a notice of vacancy pursuant to the Maddy Act for members of the following Municipal Advisory Councils:
a. Searles Valley-Trona Municipal Advisory Council - 5 members
b. Spring Valley Lake Municipal Advisory Council - 5 members

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not require the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation exists within the First District's 2020-21 budget to fund any costs related to this action.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Supervisor Robert Lovingood fulfilled his last term as Supervisor of the First District, and Col. Paul Cook (Ret.) has been elected as the First District Supervisor, effective December 7, 2020.
Pursuant to San Bernardino County Code 12.4501 et seq., all Municipal Advisory Councils and Advisory Committees dissolve upon the end of each term of the County Supervisor who represents the district in which the respective Municipal Advisory Council or Advisory Committee is located or upon the effective date of the establishment of a new Supervisorial District as a result of redistricting. Furthermore, section 12.4504(d) states that the number of members of a Municipal Advisory Council shall be established by the resolution of formation.
