BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Each city and county in California is required to prepare an annual progress report on the jurisdiction’s progress in implementing its Housing Element (Government Code Section 65400). The Annual Progress Report (APR) must be submitted to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) in April of each year. The County’s full report is included as an attachment to this item.

San Bernardino County is in full compliance with implementation of the Housing Element. Highlights of the current report include construction of 371 single-family and 283 multi-family dwellings in the unincorporated areas of the County in 2020.
