BACKGROUND INFORMATION

On January 5, 2021 (Item No. 18), the Board of Supervisors approved the Yucaipa Pool Surfacing Repair Project at Yucaipa Regional Park as part of the 2020-21 Maintenance and Capital Improvement Program First Quarter Budget Report. After detailed review and investigation by the Real Estate Services Department - Project Management (RESD-PM), it was determined that the project needs a budget increase in the amount of $50,000 from $60,239 to $110,239.  Based on additional information from several on-site walks and after draining the pool, the scope of work and additional construction costs required for the sealing of cracks and surfacing of the pool was greater than anticipated. The requested budget adjustment will increase the project budget from $60,239 to $110,239. The Departments are working together to ensure that all repairs are completed prior to the swim season opening on May 29, 2021.

Approval of this budget adjustment aligns with the County and Chief Executive Officer Goals and Objectives to Improve County Government Operations, Operate in a Fiscally-Responsible and Business-Like Manner, Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents and Pursue County Goals and Objectives by Working with Other Agencies by allowing the Department to work with PMD to repair this valuable amenity.
