RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve the Community Development Block Grant - CARES Act Round 1 contract with The Salvation Army, a California Corporation, to provide access to food to income-eligible, food insecure households affected by COVID-19 within the County of San Bernardino for the period of April 6, 2021 through April 30, 2022 for an amount not to exceed $294,204.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost
of the food preparation and/or distribution services will not exceed $294,204 over the term of the contract and is funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant - CARES Act Round 1 (CDBG-CV1) Grant. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Community Development and Housing Department's 2020-21 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

On May 19, 2020 (Item No. 109), the Board of Supervisors (Board) authorized revisions to the County of San Bernardino's (County) Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-2020 Consolidated Plan and FY 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan that allowed the County to accept and utilize $6,560,515 in federal funding from HUD to address the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
