BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Approval of the recommendation will allow ARMC to continue to work with Arnold Kevin Nourse dba Nourse Leadership Strategies (Nourse) on current team coaching and facilitation, executive coaching and expanding healthcare.  Due to the needs of patient care during the pandemic, many of the training sessions were canceled.  Approval of the contract extension will allow ARMC leadership to work with Nourse staff to extend the training, coaching, and education program.  Nourse has been instrumental in the development of ARMC’s Management Development and Future Leadership Programs. This amendment and the underlying agreement provides for the safety, health and social service needs of County residents, by expanding the knowledge of all participating staff at ARMC to better understand each of their roles within the healthcare setting.

On September 17, 2017, Purchasing approved a competitively bid agreement with Nourse in the amount of $38,250, for the period of September 20, 2017 through November 29, 2018.  On October 11, 2018, Purchasing amended the agreement to extend the term through June 29, 2019.  On May 9, 2019, Purchasing amended the agreement to increase the amount by $120,000 and extend the term of the agreement through July 30, 2021.  On July 28, 2020 (Item No. 12), the Board of Supervisors approved Amendment No. 3 to Agreement No. 20-606 with Nourse Leadership Strategies that expanded the agreement to include leadership mentoring, coaching, and education, and increased the contract amount by $248,625, from $158,250 to $406,875, with no changes to the contract period of September 20, 2017 through June 30, 2021.
