Recommendation
Approve Addendum No. 1 to Agreement No. 20-1115 with Avante Health Solutions, increasing the amount by $155,190, from $329,000 to $484,190, for preventative maintenance of additional ultrasound equipment, with no changes to the agreement period of December 5, 2020 through December 4, 2025.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The additional cost of $155,190 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2020-21 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of this recommendation will add five additional ultrasound units to the Agreement with Avante Health Solutions (Avante) for preventative maintenance service of ultrasound equipment at ARMC. These units were not accounted for when ARMC initially entered into an Agreement with Avante in 2020. Services provided by Avante include, but are not be limited to, quality assurance certification, safety testing to ensure equipment passes current standards, replacement of probes and peripherals on an exchange basis as needed at standard time and material rates, two scheduled preventative maintenance inspections per year as well as technical phone support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
On November 17, 2020 (Item No. 22), the Board approved Agreement No. 20-1115 with Avante in the amount of $329,000, for the preventative maintenance of ultrasound equipment, for the term of December 5, 2020 through December 4, 2025.
PROCUREMENT
The addendum with Avante is based on a competitive procurement, as Avante was chosen as the winning bid, from three requested bids. County Purchasing supports this competitive procurement.
