Recommendation
Approve and authorize the submission of a supplemental grant application to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families for American Rescue Plan funding in the amount of $5,302,888, to support Head Start, Early Head Start, and Early Head Start - Child Care Partnership Programs, for the period of April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2023.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). This supplemental grant application in the amount of $5,302,888 to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families (ACF) for the one-time American Rescue Plan funding does not require a non-federal match.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Head Start, Early Head Start, and Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) programs provide comprehensive, developmental and preschool services to eligible children and their families through collaborative partnerships with child care providers and agencies countywide. PSD will utilize the American Rescue Plan funds to reach eligible children and families not currently enrolled or engaged in a full program year due to pandemic situations.
