FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The proposed contract provides revenue in the amount of $469,177 to fund two existing Deputy Sheriff positions to serve as School Resource Officers (SRO) for the 2021-22 school year. The rates listed in Schedule A include 73% of the annual cost of a Deputy Sheriff and marked patrol units assigned to the Colton Joint Unified School District (CJUSD), and provide full cost recovery of both the direct and indirect costs of providing services. This equates to 190 days of service, consistent with the length of the school year (180 days of student instruction), plus 10 additional days for any necessary services such as in-service training, meetings, and report writing. Sufficient appropriation and revenue are included in the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator's (Department) 2021-22 recommended budget.
