FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Agreement with San Bernardino Community College District (District) provides revenue in the amount of $3.93 per student-instructional hour. The proposed amendment increases the instructional hours by 92,363.25, from 187,561 to 279,924.25, retroactive to July 1, 2020, for an additional reimbursement of $362,987.57 ($3.93 x 92,363.25 hours), for a new maximum revenue amount of $2,338,052.30. The revenue will offset the cost of instructors, supplies and equipment required to provide courses at the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator's (Department) training academy. The Department's 2020-21 budget includes revenue of $600,000 for this agreement. A budget adjustment is not requested at this time but will be included on a future quarterly countywide budget report presented to the Board of Supervisors (Board) for approval, if necessary.
