Recommendation
Adopt ordinance amending Sections 11.0206(a)(1) and 11.0208(e)(1) of Chapter 2 of Division 1 of Title 1 of the County Code, relating to increased fines and penalties for short-term residential rental unit violations and probation clause to address changes in state law introduced on June 22, 2021, Item 136.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
An ordinance relating to the amendment of fines and penalties for short-term residential rental (STR) violations was adopted on June 22, 2021 (Item No. 136), on an urgency basis. As part of the same agenda item, this ordinance was introduced for adoption on a non-urgency basis. This ordinance is identical to the urgency ordinance by increasing fines and penalties applicable to STR violations, but also includes a probation clause to address changes in state law effective January 1, 2021. The recommendation before the Board of Supervisors will adopt the ordinance on the Consent Calendar.
