Recommendation
Accept donation of the following vehicles from the United States Marshals Service:
1. One 2018 Ford F-150 pick-up truck (Vehicle Identification No. 1FM5K8BH8JGC57168) valued at $39,684.
2. One 2019 Ford F-150 pick-up truck (Vehicle Identification No. 1FTEW1EB8LKD12659) valued at $32,134.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Costs associated with the donated pick-up trucks including fuel, repairs and maintenance will be paid by the United States Marshals Service (USMS). The cost associated with the installation of radio equipment, for an estimated amount of $12,000, and insurance are included in the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator's (Department) 2021-22 budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Department has been in partnership with the USMS for approximately 18 years on the Pacific Southwest Region Fugitive Task Force. Sheriff Deputies that are cross sworn as Deputy US Marshal's investigate and apprehend fugitives within the region. The USMS provides funding for the purchase of equipment, and reimbursement of overtime that is expended during the investigation process and apprehension of fugitives within the region.
