Recommendation
Approve grant award agreement (State Agreement No. EA32-21-0010) from the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery for the Local Enforcement Agency Grant Program to support solid waste facilities permit and protection programs, in the amount of $53,635, for the period of July 1, 2021 through October 27, 2022.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The grant award in the amount of $53,635 for the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) Grant Program from the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) does not require a match. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Department of Public Health's (DPH) 2021-22 budget and will be included in the 2022-23 recommended budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
CalRecycle administers a statewide program to enforce regulations pertaining to solid waste management. It also designates a LEA to aid in enforcement activities and offers the non-competitive LEA Grant Program exclusively for the support of solid waste facilities, permit, and inspection programs.
