Accept the Certified Election Results for the 2021 California Gubernatorial Recall Election held on September 14, 2021, on file with the Clerk of the Board and the Registrar of Voters.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as the acceptance of the Certified Election Results is non-financial in nature, and appropriation for the minimal staffing required to present the results to the Board of Supervisors was included in the 2021-22 Registrar of Voters (ROV) budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Registrar of Voters (ROV) conducted the 2021 California Gubernatorial Recall Election in compliance with the California Elections and Government Codes, and the County Code. Ballots were cast by 577,418 eligible voters in the election, which equated to a 50.96 percent turnout of all registered voters in the election.
In addition to casting votes for or against the Governor's recall, voters in this election were able to vote for a successor candidate if the Governor were to be recalled.
ROV completed the canvass on October 14, 2021, 30 days following Election Day. Some of the canvass activities included:
