Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 4400013396 with SOLID Surface Care, Inc., increasing the not to exceed contract amount by $1,000,000, from $873,000 to $1,873,000, with no change to the term of November 1, 2019 through May 31, 2024, for the additional deep cleaning services.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of the recommendation will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The additional not to exceed cost of $1,000,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Sufficient appropriation and revenue are included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2021-22 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This Amendment will increase the SOLID Surface Care, Inc. agreement amount by $1,000,000 to account for the additional deep cleaning services required throughout the ARMC campus as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. These elevated deep cleaning measures are anticipated to be maintained throughout the remainder of this contract.
On December 2, 2019, as a result of a competitive procurement, Purchasing approved Agreement No. 4400013396 with SOLID Surface Care, Inc., in amount of $73,000 for the term of November 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020, and an annual fiscal amount of $200,000 beginning July 1, 2020 through May 31, 2024 for deep cleaning services. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, SOLID Surface Care, Inc. was required to provide deep cleaning services more often than anticipated. This has resulted in a need to increase the contract by $1,000,000 to $1,873,000. ARMC intends to continue using these additional deep cleaning service through the remainder of the contract term.
This amendment will support the County goal of maintaining patient and staff health and safety at ARMC.
