RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 20-947 with Satellite Tracking of People, LLC to provide Global Positioning System tracking services for the Probation Department, increasing the contract amount by $900,000, from $900,000 to an amount not to exceed $1,800,000, and exercising the option to extend the term for one additional year, for a total contract period of October 1, 2020 through December 31, 2022.
2. Approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 20-948 with Satellite Tracking of People, LLC to provide Global Positioning System tracking services for the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator, increasing the contract amount by $410,000, from $410,000 to an amount not to exceed $820,000, and exercising the option to extend the term for one additional year, for a total contract period of October 1, 2020 through December 31, 2022.

Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). As a result of AB 1869, which eliminated a County's ability to charge certain criminal fees, the 2021-22 State Budget includes $65 million in revenue to backfill counties for the loss of this fee revenue.
