RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Cooperative Agreement with the City of Montclair to widen and/or reconstruct Central Avenue including the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad in the Montclair area, effective upon execution by both parties through December 31, 2026 or upon project completion, whichever occurs first.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Public Works (Department) is funded by Gas Tax revenue, fee revenue, and other federal, state, and local funding. The City of Montclair (City) will fund the Central Avenue Improvement project, between Mission Boulevard and Holt Boulevard (Project), with the exception of San Bernardino County (County) staff labor costs, which involves reviewing the Project plans, right-of-way documents, attending meetings, and other coordination as necessary. The estimated total cost for the Project is $30.2 million which will be funded by the City; and the estimated County labor costs of $100,000 will be funded with the Department's Gas Tax revenue. Sufficient appropriation and revenue are included in the Department's 2021-22 Road Operations budget, and will be included in future recommended budgets (6650002000 22H151525).
