RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Memorandum of Understanding with the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways beginning July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022 to reimburse the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator, if funds are available, for personnel training costs related to boating safety and the enforcement of boating safety laws and regulations.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) will provide reimbursement to the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator (Department) for the transportation, lodging, and meal expenses incurred by Department employees while attending and satisfactorily completing training courses approved by DBW. DBW's training budget fluctuates each year and reimbursements are contingent upon the availability of funds and successful completion of administrative requirements of DBW's Marine Law Enforcement Training Program. Reimbursements will be based on rates listed in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
