Recommendation
Accept donation of the following motorcycles from the City of Hesperia:
1. One 2022 Honda CRF450RLN motorcycle (Vehicle Identification No. JH2PD1117NK301805) valued at $11,570.
2. One 2022 Honda CRF450RLN motorcycle (Vehicle Identification No. JH2PD1111NK301783) valued at $11,570.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Costs associated with the donated motorcycles including insurance, fuel and maintenance will be funded through the current law enforcement services contract with the City of Hesperia (City). Sufficient appropriation and revenue have been included in the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator’s (Department) 2021-22 budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Department provides law enforcement services to the City on a contractual basis which is renewed annually. The Department is requesting the approval to accept the donation of two Honda CRF 450 motorcycles from the City to support the illegal off-highway vehicle (OHV) enforcement operations and community events. The motorcycles will be returned to the City for disposal once their useful life has expired.
County Standard Practice 06-01SP requires departments to obtain Board of Supervisor approval of any donation valued over $10,000.
