RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Terminate Employment Contract No. 20-1166 and approve new Employment Contract with Christopher Porter to provide support services to the First District Supervisor as Policy Advisor I, effective January 29, 2022, for an estimated annual cost of $119,044 (Salary - $63,398, Benefits - $55,646).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this employment contract will not require the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation exists within the First District's 2021-22 budget to fund the costs related to this employment contract and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Staff services to members of the Board of Supervisors (Board) are provided through contractual arrangement, as required by the County Charter. On December 8, 2020 (Item No. 5), the Board approved Employment Contract No. 20-1166 to engage Mr. Porter as a Field Representative I. The recommended new employment contract would engage Mr. Porter as a Policy Advisor I, effective January 29, 2022. This employment contract is being presented at this time for Board approval effective as of January 29, 2022, to ensure seamless operations, as the recommended employment contract was finalized as soon as possible to fill a recent vacancy.
