Recommendation
Approve contract with Stoney Point Healthcare Center to provide Skilled Nursing Facility psychiatric and medical care services, in an amount not to exceed $2,463,750, for the contract period of February 8, 2022 through December 31, 2026.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of the contract with Stoney Point Healthcare Center (Stoney Point) will not exceed $2,463,750 and is funded by 1991 Realignment. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Department of Behavioral Health's (DBH) 2021-22 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of the recommended contract with Stoney Point will provide access to a total of 10 beds for DBH consumers in need of a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) level of care, as a step down from more acute and costly locked facilities, including State Hospitals. The SNF provides a variety of specialized behavioral interventions for severely persistently mentally ill (SPMI) consumers who require psychiatric monitoring in addition to treatment for their comorbid medical condition. DBH continuously seeks local SNFs, or those in close proximity, willing to provide skilled nursing services, however, due to the severity of mental and/or medical conditions experienced by DBH's hardest to serve consumers, other types of facilities are not willing to accept them.
