RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 3 to Contract No. 18-206 with San Diego State University Research Foundation to provide Social Worker Training for Children and Family Services, updating contract language, exercising the second one-year extension option, and increasing the contract amount by $2,407,261, from $8,504,956 to $10,912,217, for the total contract period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2023.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The increase of $2,407,261 will be funded through the Child Welfare Services Allocation, which is 50% Federal ($1,203,630) and 50% Realignment ($1,203,631). Adequate appropriation and revenue will be included in the Human Services Administrative Claim 2022-23 recommended budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The recommended amendment with San Diego State University Research Foundation (SDSURF) will increase and extend training services through June 30, 2023. The amendment will also update the contract language and revise the budget and scope of work attachments related to the additional new Cultural Responsiveness courses. SDSURF will continue to provide training courses to Children and Family Services (CFS) Social Workers through their Child Welfare Development Services (CWDS) Academy.
