RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 21-604 with Angel's Complete Janitorial Services, Inc. for preschool classroom custodial services and building maintenance, changing the contractor name from Angel's Complete Janitorial Services to Angel's Complete Janitorial Services, Inc., and increasing the amount by $1,700,000, from $1,525,000 to a total not to exceed $3,225,000, with no change to the contract period of June 1, 2020 through May 31, 2023.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The contract increase of $1,700,000, for a total amount not exceed $3,225,000 over the three-year contract period, is 90% ($2,902,500) federally funded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families grant funds, and 10% ($322,500) state funded. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Preschool Services Department's (PSD) 2021-22 budget and will be included in the 2022-23 recommended budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
PSD requires custodial services at all Head Start preschool locations to maintain childcare licensing standards and remain in compliance with Health and Safety regulations. PSD has been unable to hire eligible custodians for some sites due to labor market shortages and an increasing demand for custodian services. Angel's Complete Janitorial Services, Inc.
