Approve Proposal and authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order to Translogic Corporation, DBA Swisslog Healthcare Solutions, for the purchase of the Pneumatic Tube System Upgrade at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, in the amount of $299,445.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Board of Supervisors (Board) approved a budget of $500,070 for the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) Pneumatic Tube System Project (Project) (WBSE 10.10.0742), which includes the $299,445 for purchase of the Pneumatic Tube System Upgrade, as part of the 2021-22 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The approval of the Proposal and issuance of a purchase order with Swisslog Healthcare will allow for the upgrade of the Pneumatic Tube System (PTS) software and system controls, currently used at the ARMC facility. The existing PTS is outdated, causing the existing system to fail constantly and lose productivity and time. Upgrading the PTS to the new electronic system will improve system downtime, result in fewer alarms and less time spent maintaining the system, reduce calls from users, improve clinical staff satisfaction, and reduce maintenance cost.
