RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Authorize the purchase of one unbudgeted Probewell Single Phase Meter Standard for testing the accuracy of electric meters, at the total cost of $10,500.
2. Authorize the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector to post budget adjustments, as indicated in the Financial Impact Section (Four votes required).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Agriculture / Weights & Measures (AWM) will fund the Probewell Single Phase Meter Standard with a budget adjustment in the amount of $10,500 from salary savings resulting from staffing vacancies. This item authorizes the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector to post adjustments to AWM's 2021-22 budget as follows:

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This item seeks approval for a budget adjustment of $10,500 to purchase a Probewell Single Phase Meter Standard, which will be used to ensure that commercially operated electric meters are accurate and the amount billed for the kilowatt per hour is correct. The Probewell Single Phase Meter Standard is portable and allows AWM to conduct testing of the electric meter onsite at a mobile home park to minimize the impact to the resident and the mobile home park manager.
