Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Operational costs have been included in the County Library's 2022-23 budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On November 23, 2004 (Item No. 13), the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved Agreement No. 04-1188 between San Bernardino County (County) and the Rialto Unified School District (District) to establish a joint use branch library facility (Carter Public Library) on the Carter High School Campus located at 2630 N. Linden, Rialto. This item also adopted Resolution No. 2004-386, setting the public service hours for the Carter Public Library.
This Agreement allowed the Carter High School campus library to also be used as a public library. County Code Section 11.0401 sets business hours for County Offices as 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day, exclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, unless otherwise authorized by Board resolution. Resolution No. 2004-386 set the public service hours for the Carter Public Library as Monday through Thursday 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., closed Friday, and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
