RECOMMENDATION(S)

Recommendation

1.                     Approve Employment Contract with Edwin Delgado to provide support services to the Fifth District Supervisor as an Intern Staff Assistant I, effective November 19, 2022, for an estimated annual cost of $19,246 (Salary - $17,664, Benefits - $1,582), contingent upon successful completion of the hiring process.

2.                     Approve Employment Contract with Leanne Uribe to provide support services to the Fifth District Supervisor as a Field Representative I, effective November 19, 2022, for an estimated annual cost of $84,968 (Salary - $50,669, Benefits - $34,299), contingent upon successful completion of the hiring process.

3.                     Approve Employment Contract with Mario Flores to provide support services to the Fifth District Supervisor as a Field Representative I, effective November 19, 2022, for an estimated annual cost of $84,968 (Salary - $50,669, Benefits - $34,299), contingent upon successful completion of the hiring process.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Approval of the employment contracts will not require the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation exists within the Fifth District’s 2022-23 budget to fund the costs related to these employment contracts and will be included in future recommended budgets.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Staff services to members of the Board of Supervisors (Board) are provided through contractual arrangement, as required by the County Charter.  The employment contracts under Recommendation Nos. 1-3 would engage Edwin Delgado to provide support services as an Intern Staff Assistant I, Leanne Uribe to provide support services as a Field Representative I, and Mario Flores to provide support services as a Field Representative I, all for the Fifth District Supervisor, effective November 19, 2022, and contingent upon successful completion of the hiring process.

 

Either party may terminate their respective employment contract at any time without cause with a 14-day prior written notice to the other party.  The contracts may be terminated for just cause immediately by the County.
