RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Authorize the San Bernardino County Library to accept a gift from the New Friends of the Lake Arrowhead Branch Library, in the amount of $60,000, to be used to fund the purchase of technology and equipment for the newly remodeled Lake Arrowhead Branch Library.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not require the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost).
Budget adjustments to Library's 2022-23 budget are not requested at this time but may be included on a future budget report presented to the Board of Supervisors (Board) for approval.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Acceptance of the $60,000 gift from the New Friends of the Lake Arrowhead Branch Library will allow the County Library to utilize funds to purchase new early learning computers, new early learning tablets, along with other technology and Library equipment that will enhance the customer experience at the newly renovated Lake Arrowhead Branch Library. County Policy 06-01 and Standard Practice 06-01SP requires Board approval of gifts and donations having a value greater than $10,000.
The New Friends of the Lake Arrowhead Branch Library is a non-profit 501-C3 organization that works to raise money from memberships and book sales to help support library programs at the Lake Arrowhead Branch Library, including the purchase of newspaper and magazine subscriptions, DVDs, incentives for children to reach reading objectives, etc.
