RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of the Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency, approve a Contract, between Hi Desert Medical Center and Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency for designation as a Level IV Trauma Center, in the amount of $25,000 annually, for the period of November 15, 2022, through June 30, 2024, with an option to extend for one additional three-year period.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The $25,000 annual fee paid by the Hi Desert Medical Center (HDMC) will cover the costs incurred by the Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) related to evaluation and oversight of the hospital's participation in the trauma system. The cost for the first year will be prorated in the amount of $14,583, for the period of November 15, 2022, through June 30, 2023. Sufficient appropriation and revenue have been included in ICEMA's 2022-23 recommended budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
ICEMA, as the Local Emergency Medical Services Agency (LEMSA), is responsible for ensuring effective Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the Counties of San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono.
