FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). There is no financial impact to receiving this list of real estate activity occurring at County Regional Parks. However, approved Interim Use Permits (Permits) do result in revenue that is utilized by the Regional Parks Department (Department) to help offset the use of Discretionary General Funding for park operations.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
County Policy No. 12-05, Leasing County Regional Park Real Property (Policy), Paragraph 2F requires the Department and the Real Estate Services Department (RESD) to periodically prepare an agenda item reporting the execution of Permits, short-term leases, and the commencement of Solicitation of Proposals (SOPs) processes to the Board of Supervisors (Board). The Department and RESD do not have any short-term leases, SOPs, or license agreements to report for this period. In accordance with the Policy, the following table reflects the executed Permits from September 1, 2022, through November 30, 2022.

The issuance of these Permits is in line with the County and Chief Executive Officer’s goal and objective to operate in a fiscally-responsible and business-like manner by allowing the Department to leverage its park property resources to generate revenue to support park maintenance and development. All fees charged to the Permittees are consistent with the 2022-23 Board approved fee schedule.
