RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Accept donation of one 2023 Polaris RZR XP 4 1000 Sport Cruiser (Vehicle Identification No. 3NSN4E992PH426814) for a total value of $31,954.10 from the City of Hesperia.
2. Authorize the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator, Undersheriff, or Assistant Sheriff to execute all necessary documentation to transfer title of the donated vehicle referenced in Recommendation No. 1, subject to review by County Counsel.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The 2023 Polaris RZR XP 4 1000 Sport Cruiser (Polaris RZR) was purchased by the City of Hesperia (Hesperia) in the total amount of $31,954.10, in which $26,250 was made available to Hesperia through its Off-Highway Vehicle Grant G21 funds. All costs associated with the donated Polaris RZR including fuel, insurance, and maintenance, will be funded through the law enforcement services contract with Hesperia. Sufficient appropriation and revenue are included in the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator’s (Department) 2022-23 budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Department provides law enforcement services to Hesperia on a contractual basis that is renewed annually. The Department is requesting approval to accept the donation of the Polaris RZR to be used by staff assigned to Hesperia’s patrol station during the course and scope of law enforcement duties within Hesperia, including but not limited to, off-highway vehicle enforcement operations and community events. At the end of its useful life, the Polaris RZR will be returned to Hesperia for disposal.
County Policy Standard Practice 06-01SP requires departments to obtain Board of Supervisor approval of any donation valued over $10,000.
