FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $792,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue are included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2022-23 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This Agreement will provide ARMC with specialized devices from Inari Medical, Inc. (Inari), for the treatment of pulmonary embolisms (PE). The Inari device is a 24F (8mm) device with curved and straight catheters available for use with patients with massive or submassive PE, a blood clot that can cause partial or total blockage of blood flow in the affected vessel. These devices function by removing clots through both mechanical and aspiration mechanisms of action, capturing and removing large clot burden from big vessels, treating in a single session, and eliminating the need for thrombolytics and Intensive Care Unit stays.
